DALLAS, TEXAS – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai recently met with Madam Vjosa Osmani, President of Kosovo, in Dallas, Texas, during the ongoing US-Africa Business Summit. The meeting, held on Monday, aimed to enhance bilateral relations between Liberia and Kosovo, with a focus on various critical sectors.
Madam Osmani commended President Boakai for his leadership qualities and expressed a strong interest in bolstering ties between their countries. She highlighted key areas for cooperation, including business and trade, agriculture, diplomacy, youth empowerment, defense cooperation, and coal mining.
During their discussion, Madam Osmani shared the challenges Kosovo faced in gaining freedom and justice in the Balkan Peninsula. She emphasized the potential for collaboration between their nations, given their shared experiences, to promote livelihood improvement and strengthen democracy.
President Boakai welcomed President Osmani’s visit and expressed a keen interest in deepening the relationship between Liberia and Kosovo. He underscored the importance of attracting investments in trade, agriculture, and economic development to bolster bilateral ties, aligning with his Government’s ARREST Agenda.
President Boakai also sought President Osmani’s support in garnering backing from the Balkan Region for Liberia’s bid to sit on the United Nations Security Council. He highlighted the significance of this bid for promoting peace and ensuring African nations’ voices are heard in global decision-making.
The meeting between President Boakai and President Osmani signifies a commitment to enhancing bilateral relations between Kosovo and Liberia. Their dialogue emphasized mutual respect, openness, and a shared desire for peace, security, and prosperity for their nations and the global community.
