SEVEN SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR GANG SODOMY OF 17-YEAR-OLD IN PO-RIVER COMMUNITY

MONROVIA — Seven males have been sentenced to the Monrovia Central Prison after being found guilty of the gang sodomy of a 17-year-old boy from the Po-River community in Montserrado County’s District 17, according to a local radio report.

The incident reportedly occurred on January 19, 2026, in the Po-River community. Following the report of the alleged crime, the case was forwarded to the Liberia National Police (LNP) District 17 detachment for investigation.

Police authorities said the suspects were promptly arrested and formally charged after preliminary investigations linked them to the offense. The matter was subsequently forwarded to the Brewerville City Magisterial Court for prosecution.

Those convicted were identified as Moses Johnson, 46; Prince Johnson, 36; David Vincent, 16; Folley Davies, 23; Hassan Musa, 29; Muhammad Y. Sirleaf, 35; and Boimah G. Holmes, 29.

During court proceedings, prosecutors presented evidence that led to the defendants’ conviction, after which the court ordered their incarceration at the Monrovia Central Prison. The sentencing marks the conclusion of the magisterial court phase of the case.

The conviction has drawn attention within District 17, with community members expressing concern over the safety of minors and calling for stronger vigilance and protection mechanisms within local communities.

Meanwhile, the Liberia National Police has reiterated its commitment to investigating and prosecuting sexual and gender-based violence, urging the public to report such crimes promptly to the nearest police depot or authority.
