MONROVIA, LIBERIA — Liberian activist and social commentator Martin Kollie has been invited to the Liberia People’s Party (LPP) Progressive Annual Red Carpet Dinner Fund, scheduled for November 26, 2026, in Monrovia.
The annual gathering is expected to bring together progressive leaders, party veterans, supporters, partners, well-wishers, and sympathizers for an evening of solidarity, reflection, and collective action in pursuit of progressive ideals.
Kollie, a former leader of the Student Unification Party (SUP), is known for his outspoken activism and criticism of governance failures in Liberia. He has yet to confirm whether he will attend the event.
Sources familiar with the invitation say Kollie’s participation could attract considerable political interest, particularly as speculation grows about his possible bid for the Liberian Senate in 2029. His invitation is also viewed as an opportunity to strengthen ties between the LPP and influential voices within Liberia’s broader progressive community.
Other progressive organizations, including SUP, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), and the Movement for Justice in Africa (MOJA), are also among the groups invited to the gathering.
According to the organizers, the dinner is intended to provide a platform for progressive forces to reconnect, celebrate shared values, and reaffirm their commitment to democratic governance and Liberia’s social and economic development.
Beyond its celebratory purpose, the event will serve as a fundraising initiative to support the LPP’s ongoing political and organizational activities. The party is encouraging supporters and well-wishers to contribute, emphasizing that every donation represents solidarity with the progressive cause.
Political leaders from across the political spectrum are also expected to attend, potentially creating opportunities for dialogue among individuals and groups with differing political approaches but shared concerns about Liberia’s governance and development challenges.
Kollie’s possible attendance is expected to generate discussion among political observers and commentators, given his public profile and outspoken positions on corruption, accountability, and social justice.
As preparations continue, the LPP is reaching out to the wider progressive community to encourage participation and strengthen relationships around a shared commitment to progressive change.
Tickets to the event are available and demands for them are high, according to the organizers.
