INDIAN SCHOLAR, UL  STAKEHOLDERS HOLD MEETINGS

MONROVIA – The visiting International Multidisciplinary Scholar and Manager of International Relations of Sharda University (SU), New Delhi, India, Prof. Sachin Saini is in the country as a guest of the University of Liberia.

Since his arrival in the country, Prof. Saini has held talks and interactions with major stakeholders of the University of Liberia including the President, Vice Presidents, Deans, Academic Directors, ULFA President, ULSA President, Chairpersons, faculty, staff and students.

He, also, used the occasion to make presentations about the administrative and academic programs of Sharda Group of Companies particularly Sharda University and Shrada Hospital in New Delhi, India.

He visited and held meetings with UL President, Prof. Dr. Julius Julukon Sarwolo Nelson, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Moses M. Zinnah, Vice President for Institutional Development and Investment, Prof. Weade Kobbah Boley, Vice President for Graduate Education and Executive Dean, Prof. Dr. Jonathan C. Taylor, University of Liberia  Faculty Association President, Dr. Edina Johnny and the University of Liberia Staff Association President, Mr. Lawrence Seitua.

Others include the Academic Directors of UL Graduate Programs; the  Dean and the chairpersons of Prof Amos C Sawyer College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr Josephus Moses Gray, the Dean and the Chairpersons of Faulkner College of Science and Technology, Assistant Professor Dr. Charles Asumana, Dean and the chairpersons of Engineering College, Assistant Professor H. Hun-bu Tulay,  the Associate Dean and the chairpersons of College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Young; Dean and the chairpersons of Honor College, Assistant Professor Mrs. Mamawa Freeman Moore and the Administrator, Deans and Heads of College of Health Sciences.

The purpose of Prof Saini’s visit to the country is to strengthen the academic and administrative ties existing between the two higher institutions, the University of Liberia and Sharda University.

The two universities on October 6, 2022, signed a major Memorandum of Understanding which stand to benefit cross sectors of faculty, staff, and students of both institutions. UL President Prof Dr. Julius Julukon Sarwolo Nelson and Prof. Dr. Ashok Daryani signed on behalf of their institutions.

The MoU includes joint projects and new academic programs with an emphasis on quality research, academic excellence, faculty and staff career development programs, capacity building, faculty, and students exchange, faculty sabbaticals, exchange of Ph.D. scholars, provision of scholarships for postgraduate and undergraduate students, dual degree program, credit transfer programs, short- and long-term customized courses, joint collaborative research projects and publication of a joint peer-viewed research journal and development. The MoU also covered health education and medical and developmental programs.

Prof. Saini was accompanied on the visitations and meetings with stakeholders at UL by two distinguished Liberian authors, the Dean of the Prof. Amos C. Sawyer College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Josephus M. Gray, and the Chairperson of the Department of Political Sciences, Assistant Prof. Richmond S. Anderson.

Mr. Saini, a guest of the University of Liberia, on Friday paid a courtesy visit at the host institution’s Capitol Hill campus to hold talks with UL President, Prof.  Dr. Nelson. During the visit, the two distinguished academicians, Dr. Nelson, and Prof. Saini discussed a wide range of salient issues and exchanged views, especially about the upward trajectory of both institutions for the benefit of the faculty, staff, students, and the largest society.

He conveys special greetings from Dr. Ashok Daryani, President of Sharda University to his Liberian counterpart, Dr. Nelson. He used the visit to extend an official invitation to Dr. Nelson to lead a high-powered UL delegation to Sharda University and Sharda Hospital in New Delhi, India to hold talks and working sessions with the stakeholders of Shrada University and Sharda Hospital and Indian academicians, officials, researchers, and business entrepreneurs.

Prof. Saini further disclosed that the visit was also intended to convey greetings from the Deans, faculty, staff, and students of Sharda University, and to acquaint the UL President with the desire for a greater partnership and collaboration in several areas of studies.

Presenting a Certificate of Thank You to Mr. Nelson,  the visiting Indian Scholar used the visit to praise Dr. Nelson for the numerous tangible successes under his leadership at the University of Liberia and disclosed that UL under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Nelson has arisen above redemption by placing itself on a new academic trajectory to establish unique collaboration and partnership with other sisterly global recognized institutions of higher learning and universities including Sharda University and Sharda Hospital on across the globe.

On behalf of the authorities of Sharda Group of Companies and Sharda University, Mr. Saini also extended a Special Invitation to the UL Stakeholders to visit Sharda University in New Delhi for official discussions with their Indian counterparts and Indian academicians, business tycoons, and officials for the benefits of UL and the largest society.

According to Prof. Saini, these new MoUs are imbued with the widely acclaimed quality of education, coupled with academically tasteful knowledge, adding that all these historic academic deals are geared towards quality education, faculty, staff, and students’ overseas career development and exchanges to enhance the status of the university.

In his words of appreciation, Dr. Nelson welcomed Prof. Saini to the campuses of the University of Liberia and the country and expressed appreciation for the partnership and collaboration between the two sisterly universities aimed at strengthening both institutions in several positive aspects.

Dr. Nelson who later described Prof. Saini as UL Ambassador to India, thanked his counterpart at Sharda University, Dr. Ashok Daryani, and the entire Sharda University family for the unique tie existing between the two universities and states.

Dr. Nelson welcomed the invitation from his Indian counterpart and academic team of Sharda University and Sharda Hospital and promised to pay an official visit to India.

On behalf of the stakeholders, faculty, staff, and students of the university, Dr. Nelson presented a special gift to Prof. Saini and encouraged him to always visit the campuses of the institution.

In their words of appreciation, the Vice Presidents, Deans, Academic Directors, ULFA and ULSA Presidents, and the chairpersons lauded  Prof. Saini for visitations, meetings, and presentations which they described as resourceful and instructive imbued with quality and benefits.
