A COMMENTARY: “SALUTING DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL JAMES O. NAGBE ON HIS ONE-YEAR WORK ANNIVERSARY AT LBS!

Date:

Written by the Rural Broadcasting Division of LBS

Following his appointment by His Excellency Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai, President of the Republic of Liberia, April 8 this year, marked exactly one year since Honorable James O. Nagbe took office as Deputy Director General for Rural Broadcasting at the Liberia Broadcasting System.

A public servant par excellence, Honorable Nagbe, for one straight year, has not on a single occasion faltered in expeditiously executing his fiduciary duties, as he reports early to work and is among those that leave late if not very late on each work day, even putting in time on weekends and holidays as duty depicts.

Upon taking over, having previously worked extensively at LBS, including serving as Director of Rural Broadcasting, Honorable Nagbe rolled up his sleeves and got to work, initially forming an integral part of a top management delegation on an assessment trip to tour the national broadcaster’s facilities including several relay and sub-stations around the country–and as a result, essential interventions were made and continue to be made on the unpleasant legacy inherited by the new LBS management team.

Honorable Nagbe’s leadership traits and guidance have no doubt been monumentally instrumental in the success of the team at the Rural Broadcasting Division of the Liberia Broadcasting System, which superintends the workings of 18 Language Announcers charged with the duty of broadcasting news and information in all of the country’s 18 recognized  indigenous languages, as well as 19 correspondents assigned in Liberia’s 15 political sub-divisions, generating for the national broadcaster a substantial portion of contents for news purposes, whether on state radio, the national television, or the Liberia National Language Radio, 97.7 FM.

Honorable Nagbe, for a year plus now, has proven to be innovative and a team player, as he keeps suggesting and implementing meaningful ideas that are bolstering operations at LBS.

Worth mentioning are his exemplary servant-leadership attributes, his heart-warming receptions and excellent interpersonal relations, unwavering dedication, and enticing friendly disposition, which have made not just LBS Rural Broadcasting Division a better place, but has positively impacted productivity and ‘lively up’ the work environment here at the national broadcaster.

That’s why we from the Rural Broadcasting Division of the Liberia Broadcasting System doff out our hats to Honorable James O. Nagbe, Deputy Director General for Rural Broadcasting at LBS, and we say Sir, it’s been a pleasure working with you for one whole year. We are thrilled to see the positive impact you have had on our team, and here’s to many more successful professional years ahead!
