INDIA: INTERNATIONAL STUDENT FROM ZIMBABWE ALLEGES RAPE, LIBERIAN STUDENT ARRESTED

Khanna SSP Amneet Kondal said that an FIR for rape was registered under section 376 of IPC at Khanna City-1 police station and the accused was arrested.

PUNJAB, INDIA – Police said that both the woman and the accused lived on rent in the same colony in Khanna. In her complaint to the police submitted via her university authorities, the woman from Zimbabwe said that on the night of April 17, the accused, who is from Liberia, invited her to his brother’s room where they were consuming alcohol. She said that they offered alcohol to her also but she refused.

She further said that she felt hungry and then the accused said that they can go his room where she can cook. The woman said that she agreed as always took him as a friend. When they reached at his room, the woman added that she was cooking chicken when the accused told her that he wanted to say something to her. She said that he said “I love you” but she told him clearly that she cannot reciprocate his feelings as she was already in a relationship. The woman alleged that soon the accused “went mad”, started kissing her and overpowered her. She said she somehow managed to leave the place and reached her home but he kept following her.
