HASSAN FADIGA ALLEGES COVER-UP AT LDEA, CLAIMS TRUTH WILL BE REVEALED

Date:

MONROVIA – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) finds itself embroiled in a deepening internal conflict, as Deputy Director General of Operations Hassan Fadiga makes damning accusations against Director General Abraham Kromah. The simmering tensions within the agency have now erupted into public scrutiny, following a bold statement from Fadiga hinting at a hidden agenda and pledging to unveil the truth.

In his statement, shared on social media, Fadiga levied a series of allegations against Kromah and his associates, asserting, “The truth will come to light, and the nation will be shaken to its core. Our mission is to expose those who have been protecting the perpetrators of wrongdoing and to save the soul of our nation.”

Responding directly to Kromah’s recent press conference, Fadiga vehemently denied any involvement in misconduct. “I would like to clarify that I did not brandish any weapon. As a seasoned law enforcement professional with over a decade of experience, it is against my principles to engage in such behavior. However, I was unfortunately attacked by Kromah’s thugs,” Fadiga asserted.

Detailing a distressing encounter, Fadiga recounted being allegedly assaulted by Kromah’s personal security team, comprised of ex-rebel fighters from ULIMO-K. “During the assault, Kromah’s personal security unexpectedly seized my firearm, while another ex-rebel general named Keita restrained me. They further restricted my movement and subjected me to assault in the director’s office,” he revealed.

Highlighting the severity of the situation, Fadiga claimed that his phones were confiscated during the incident. “Additionally, they confiscated three of my phones. Fortunately, one of my phones, an iPhone 15 Pro-max, had recorded the entire incident without their knowledge. Unfortunately, they deleted the recording when they realized its existence,” he lamented. Nonetheless, Fadiga managed to retrieve the video from a backup account, inaccessible to his attackers due to its face recognition feature.

Asserting his unwavering commitment to transparency and justice, Fadiga declared, “I firmly believe that the truth will be revealed in due time, and we will be vindicated. I have no intention of paying any media outlets to report favorably on my behalf. Instead, I plan to hold a significant press conference to present all the facts, allowing the Liberian people to make their own informed judgments.”

The escalating turmoil within the LDEA raises serious concerns about the agency’s stability and efficacy in combating drug trafficking and abuse in Liberia. If Fadiga’s allegations are substantiated, they could have profound implications for the agency’s leadership and integrity.

In light of these grave accusations, it is imperative for both parties—Abraham Kromah and Hassan Fadiga—to prioritize the agency’s integrity and mission over personal grievances. The internal conflict must be addressed transparently and fairly to enable the agency to fulfill its critical mandate without further disruption. While the pursuit of truth is essential, maintaining professionalism and upholding principles of justice and accountability are equally paramount.
