MONROVIA – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has appointed Dr. Sia Wata Camanor as the Interim Director-General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), following the dismissal of Dr. Dougbeh Chris Nyan from the same post. The President also relieved Dr. Adam Lincoln of his duties as Deputy Director-General for Administration.
Dr. Camanor, a veteran public health professional with extensive experience in the sector, is expected to steer the Institute during this transitional period. In his statement, the President emphasized the importance of ensuring that NPHIL continues to operate effectively while the government undertakes reforms to strengthen Liberia’s public health systems and institutional governance.
The appointment comes amid growing attention on NPHIL’s role in safeguarding national health and responding to public health challenges.
