-Describes Normah administration as illegitimate
Concern Members of Liberia NGOs Network are resolved to go General Assembly this December to elect new officials for the organization. The call for the holding of the General Assembly by the Concern members is based on the alleged breach of the organization of the current leadership headed by Mr. Stephen Normah, whose tenure has expired in 2021.
The Concern LINNK members through their spokesperson, Benjamin Tarnue quotes article 10 section 1 of the organization’s constitution that the National Coordination body shall steer the affairs of LINNK for two calendar year, adding the Normah leadership tenure has expired since, 2021,
The Concern LINNK members said the Normah administration has failed to organize a General Assembly to put in place a new leadership.
Article 10, section 1 of LINNK’s constitution, states the tenure of the National Coordinating body shall be for two calendar years.
Based on the constitution, the tenure of Mr. Stehphen Normah who has been in authority tenure has expired since 2019.
Mr. Tarnue disclosed that on several occasions, the Concern LINNK members have written and requested Mr. Normah to hold a General Assembly to usher in a new leadership.
“Our request on several occasions has been downplayed by Mr. Noprmah, thus creating embarrassment for the organization and making most of the organization partners confused about the activities with LINNK,” Tarnue indicated.
It can be recalled that Stephen Normah took over forcefully from George Kayah, who he excused of not holding the General Assembly for a new leadership of LINNK.
The Concern LINKK members are meanwhile calling the Government of Liberia, National and International Organization Partners, EU, UNDP, Mercy Corps, UN Women, UNICEF, UNFPA KTK, WaterAid Liberia, and the United States Embassy not to do business with Mr. Stephen Norman.
In a related development, the body will have to elect a new code of officers in December to steer the affairs of LINNK for the next two years.
