MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police has arrested, investigated, and forwarded to Court two male suspects for their alleged involvement in the production of Fraudulent documents for traveling purposes in December 2022.
On May 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM, Suspects, Boimah Gibson, 39, and Lahai D. Sannoh, adult were arrested from Chicken Soup Factory and Paynesville respectively based on a complaint filed by the United States Embassy through a victim Massa M. Dixon (adult).
Victim Massa M. Dixon averred to Police that she gave over USD2,500.00 for the purpose of sending her daughter Bendu Vero Washington to the United States of America for study through Reverend Eric Sumo who is at large.
According to a Police investigative report, the suspects were charged with criminally colluding and conspiring in the production of Fraudulent bank statements, US non-immigrant application forms, and marriage certificates for the purpose of receiving money from their victim(s) with the pretense of providing them traveling opportunities.
After the issuance of a search and seizure warrant, the Investigators recovered from at-large suspect Eric Sumo’s business center on Clay Street; six Liberian Passports bearing the names: Winnah Wreh – #: PP0077286, Farwore D. Barchue – #: PP0236846, Life M. Kargbo – #: PP0215340, Miatta Rider – #: L208800, Dominion Sumo – #: PP0089437 and David Faith Matt – #: PP0165012.
Police Investigators also discovered at the Eric Sumo Business Center (Village Ministries), seven US Department of States Consular Electronic Application confirmation documents, assorted documents including fourteen stamps from different entities, three Desktops, three keyboards, three CPUs, two printers, one internet stick, and two tablets which are allegedly used for the preparation of these fraudulent documents by accomplices, Gibson and Sannoh.
In view of the foregoing facts and circumstances, including the fraudulent documentation(s) obtained, equipment used for production, and witnesses’ statements, the investigation has resolved to send to court suspects, Boimah Gibson and Lahai D. Sannoh for prosecution with the crimes; Criminal Conspiracy in violation of chapter 10 section 10. 4, Theft of property which is in violation of Chapter 15 subchapter D, section 15.15 and Forgery of documents in violation of Chapter 15, subchapter E, section 15.70 of the Revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia.
