MARYLAND CO., LIBERIA – Hon. Anthony F. Williams, the Representative for Pleebo District #2, has donated a four-door pickup truck valued at $9,000 and fourteen sets of rain gear to the District Development Council (DDC) and the Liberia National Police in Maryland County.
The dedication ceremony took place at the Pleebo Hall on July 23, 2024, attended by local government officials, members of the Muslim and religious communities, including Rev. Morris KC Harris, the Liberia National Police led by J. Max Roberts, local youth, and traditional women.
Coordinator Standford Neufville, representing Hon. Williams, presented the donations. He stated that the vehicle and rain gear would help alleviate challenges faced by the DDC and LNP in the county. Neufville emphasized that this was Hon. Williams’ way of giving back to the community for their support in the recent elections. He assured that the lawmaker has many plans for further development in the district.
The home office urged recipients to use these materials responsibly to enhance safety and provide protection for all citizens.
Aldolphus Mlama, Chairman of the DDC, expressed gratitude for the donation, stating that the vehicle would be carefully managed and used to support city operations. He pledged ongoing collaboration with Hon. Williams to improve the district.
In a separate address, Officer Dawuda Swari, Superintendent of Operations for police in Maryland County, thanked Rep. Williams for his continuous support. “This is the first time we have received such a donation from a lawmaker after years of service in the county,” he remarked, highlighting the positive impact of the rain gear and boat on police operations.
Madam Chris Walker, women leader and District Inspector, praised Hon. Williams for his timely gesture. She emphasized the importance of women’s support for rapid development in the district and county.
