A Liberian activist, the exiled Martin Kollie, has exposed Bomi County’s senator Edwin Snowe’s lies.
In a Facebook post yesterday, Martin Kollie published photos of how iron Ores mined from Bomi Hills are being shipped out of the country through the Monrovia port.
Kollie’s publication was in reaction to the alleged falsehood told by senator Snowe on local radio that Bomi iron ores are not yet being exported.
Kollie wrote: “You and your supporters told our people in Bomi that no iron ores have been mined and shipped from Bomi since that bogus Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was criminally negotiated and signed with Western Cluster”.
He followed that up with photos allegedly taken from the Freeport of Monrovia, where the Ores from Bomi were being allegedly loaded on a ship to be ferried from Liberia.
Snowe had told local radio that no ores from Bomi have been shipped out of the country.
Martin Kollie reminded Senator Snowe that the people of Bomi had been duped in the past and that this time, Snowe and others involved in the Western Cluster alleged scam must account for their action against the people of Bomi.
In the meantime, Citizens of Bomi yesterday met in a mass meeting with their county lawmakers, local chiefs, Youth and Women groupings, and other prominent citizens over the controversial operations of Western Cluster in Bomi County.
It is alleged, the citizens submitted a resolution to the County legislative Caucus, demanding the cancellation of the MOU signed between the government of Liberia and Western Cluster.
Senator Morris Gato Saytuma, chairman of the Bomi legislative Caucus who received the resolution assured the aggrieved citizens that they will intercede on their behalf to redress their concerns appropriately.
