LIBERIA – A teenage girl is reported dead after a car in which she was riding flew into Stockton Creek near Jamaica Road in the suburb of Monrovia. The driver was said to be her own father.
The victim is identified as Aisha Sheriff, a resident of Banjor in Brewerville city, outside Monrovia. She was expecting to graduate from a senior secondary school next week, according to family sources.
Aisha was said to be driven by her father, identified as Mohammed. They were said to be returning from the Roberts International Airport after escorting her brother who departed the country.
Sources have told Smart News that the accident took place early morning hours while returning home using the Japanese Freeway route.
The car, a red Cherokee two-seated vehicle simply flew off the bridge into the River, a police source quoting the driver.
Police sources also confirmed, Mohamed and his daughter had taken his son who travelled to the airport and were returning home early morning hours when the accident took place.
The driver was unhurt, police said. But the girl may have died because she had fastened her seat, according to Police.
