The Liberian Army Chief has spoken lengthily about several calls and messages he claimed to have received, urging him to overthrow the CDC Government of George Manneh President.
Major General Prince C. Johnson, (not INPFL rebel general), has told a local radio interview yesterday, that he has received numeral messages urging him to carry out a coup against the CDC Government.
The armed forces chief did not name names, but recently sent out a caveat for whosoever may feel or is disenchanted about the Weah Government.
Major General Prince C. Johnson advised Liberians to use the court system to address whatever dissatisfaction they may have with the government as the country approaches the 2023 general and presidential elections.
If you decide to take the law into your own hands (disregarding the rule of law), regardless of your current or past status or affiliation, and if the LNP can’t control your actions and/or is overwhelmed, we will execute our constitutional duties, he said both on radio and in a special press statement.
We will not allow anyone or a group of people to obstruct our hard-earned Peace and Democracy, the army chief added.
Johnson said: “We will support the LNP and relevant agencies to protect key installations where necessary.”
And When General Johnson was called by a Liberian Freelance Journalist contributing to this platform for names of those who are plotting to overthrow President Weah, he simply forwarded several social media messages that have been urging him and the army to take over the country.
One of the messages reads: The way Miami president gone for 21-day jolly, I think, the chief of staff should take over the country mehn.”
Another one said: “AFL, wake up and save the nation from Weah.”
“I think it is about time that the military complete control of the government of Liberia because of this so-called president attitude”, said another message to General Johnson.
“Breaking news: information reaching me says that the minister of Defense of the Republic of Liberia just had a meeting with Jewel Howard-Taylor. I am told Jewel Howard-Taylor will soon be taking over as president. Information says the vice president has the full support of the military”, according another social media message forwarded to the Journalist by General Johnson.
The latest revelation by the army chief sends chills in the bodies of Liberians; with some questioning the logic and timing of the AFL’s chief outburst.

Mathew Nyenplu, a Liberian political commentator based in the United States said General Johnson’s statement was unprofessional.
He indicated that if the comments attributed to him are true, President Weah must with immediate effect dismiss him, and subject him to a criminal investigation.
No more War, Peace is ours.
