LIBERIA – An official of the Execution Protection Service (EPS) has described as “Awkward, repugnant, and totally unwarranted”, social media report alleging that nine bodyguards travelling with President George Weah have absconded while on assignment with the Liberian leader outside of the country.
The officials who preferred not to be named said what shocked him most about the “fantasy” story is that conventional media would quote such “disinformation” which was placed on social media without first contacting the EPS.
Our source says while the story is not correct, he was concerned about this level of “unprofessional reporting” which he said has the propensity of endangering the life of the president.
Our source refused to comment further on the report, noting that by doing so, he would be giving credence to “This kind of disgusting style of journalism.”
Report had emerged that nine bodyguards travelling with the Liberian President have escaped in Europe. There no were other details.
