MONROVIA – Following incessant mudslinging of Unity Party’s standard bearer, former VP Joseph N. Boakai (JNB), by pro-government radio talk show host, Abraham Wheon, he has declared that he’s rescinding his actions, and has called for a truce between him and apologists of JNB, who in time past have equally replied to his tantrums against the UP man.
Wheon, who is noted for using the airwaves of the pro-government Freedom FM radio station to throw jibes at the UP standard bearer, also uses social media, especially Facebook, to hurl denigrating comments at the elderly statesman.
But, on Wednesday, Wheon took to Facebook to announce that he was discontinuing his recent waves of social media posts, which he acknowledged of causing emotional distress to those who such posts are directed at.
“Finally, I have listened and human decency demands that I care about fellow humans, so I am pausing here,” wrote Wheon, who in one of his most recent Facebook posts referred to former VP Boakai as a “Dead man walking.”
However, the pro-government radio presenter, who called for peace to reign, promised to resume his onslaught against ex-VP Boakai, should the need arise.
“Let’s remain peaceful and have an issue-based focus on this process which defines the future of our country.” Wheon wrote on his official Facebook handle.
Howbeit, almost immediately after Wheon plea for a truce was made, a ranking member of the JNB campaign team, Martin K.N. Kollie, referred to the pro-government radio presenter as the Chief Propagandist of incumbent President George Weah.
He wonders why the pro-government talk radio presenter is escaping when the war of words between them hasn’t even begun.
Kollie claims Wheon is escaping after he (Kollie) exposed what he termed the pro-government radio presenter’s “widened emptiness”.
“Wheon is an escapee. The wrath of our pen has sent him into an intellectual inferno. Wheon, you are too weak of an intellectual to cause “emotional distress” for anyone because you often feed on noise and inaccuracies. The Rescue Train is steadily en-route to a one-round victory,” Martin emphasized.
Kollie then threw out an open challenge to Wheon: “Open your microphone for a debate. Defend GMW (George Manneh Weah) while I defend JNB. I will pay for the airtime (Policy Debate). We want to bring this fight to you since you are escaping. Will GMW still pay you US$8k per month after escaping?”
