MONROVIA – During a press conference held in Monrovia today, Luther Tarpeh, Chairman of the Unity Party, announced that Joseph Nyumah Boakai, the Party’s Standard Bearer, has emerged as the winner of the 2023 presidential race. Chairman Tarpeh cited data from 90 percent of tally sheets collected nationwide, which indicate that the ruling CDC party has suffered a defeat. The Unity Party urges President Weah to vacate the Executive Mansion.
He said since the elections on October 10, the party has maintained a quiet demeanor in order to uphold the law. He added, “We want to assure you that once the National Election Commission announces the final election results, Joseph Boakai of the Unity party will assume the position of the new President”.
The chairman of UP declared that their tally center is open to international observers and election monitors to verify their claim of victory. “We urge our party members and supporters to disregard any fraudulent results that may be circulating.”
Senator Darius Dillion, the chair of the UP Montserrado County campaign, confidently stated at the conference that they possess 90% of the tally sheets from various counties are certain of their victory. Dillion emphasized that the party will only acknowledge the official results and nothing else.
In addition, Grand Bassa County Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, chair of the Unity Party campaign expressed her gratitude to all party members for their unwavering support throughout the election process. She conveyed that the Standard Bearer is extremely pleased with the reports received so far.
