MONROVIA — The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) and its supporting partners concluded a strategic meeting to strengthen collaboration through regular communication. This meeting led to the formation of a Partnership Coordinating Committee, aimed at overseeing the implementation of NPHIL’s strategic plan and aligning resources with national priorities.
The committee, chaired by NPHIL’s Director General, will focus on coordinating public health efforts, addressing emergencies, and sharing best practices. The Division of Global Health and Partnership will coordinate its activities, including heads or representatives from donor agencies, key implementing partners, and relevant government agencies.
In his opening remarks, Acting Director General Mr. Amos Gborie emphasized the importance of promoting collaboration, transparency, and accountability. He commended partners for their support and reaffirmed NPHIL’s commitment to achieving its statutory mandates.
Dr. Caullau-Jabbeh Howe, representing the Ministry of Health, praised the initiative, highlighting it as a new chapter in collaboration between the Ministry and NPHIL. She pledged continued commitment to transparent and sustainable partnership efforts.
Partners at the meeting applauded NPHIL’s leadership for fostering collaboration and called for mechanisms to ensure the sustainability of public health achievements. Presentations highlighted NPHIL’s programs in laboratory, surveillance, environmental health, and biomedical research.
This newly established committee aims to enhance Liberia’s public health system through coordinated efforts and effective resource allocation.
