MONROVIA – Over seven opposition political parties in the country have disclosed that they blamed state security actors, for perpetrators of gruesome murders not being brought to justice in Liberia.
At a joint press conference on Thursday, the parties, which include Unity Party (UP), Executive Committees and National Leaders of the major opposition parties including Unity Party (UP), Liberty Party (LP), Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR), Liberian People’s Party (LPP), Movement for Progressive Change (MPC), Rainbow Alliance (RA), Vision for Liberia’s Transformation (VOLT), lamented that the many gruesome killings of peaceful Liberian citizens under the George Weah-led government is of serious security concern, emphasizing that the opposition blames the security sector for not bringing the perpetrators of these gruesome murders of Liberians to justice.
“Evidence by the suspicious murder of the Four Auditors in October 2020; the gruesome murder of Princess Johnson including the mysterious disappearance of three (3) young men hired by St. Moses and the many other killings across the country,” the opposition political parties maintained.
The UP, LP, MDR, LPP, MPC, RA, VOLT, and ALP added that none of the perpetrators of the gruesome murder cases it cited, has been brought to justice up to date.
“The latest gruesome murder of Gloria Scott granddaughter, never came as a surprise and the opposition parties hold the government and the Liberia National Police (LNP) responsible,” the UP, LP, MDR, LPP, MPC, RA, VOLT, and ALP stated, indicating that information available to them portrays how this incident would have been prevented following complaints from former Chief Justice Scott to relevant state security after many attempts on her life.
