LIBERIA: MAJOR WORLD LEADERS COMING TO ATTEND JOSEPH BOAKAI’S INAUGURATION AS 25TH PRESIDENT OF LIBERIA

In a historic event set to take place on Sunday, January 21, 2024, world leaders are preparing to gather in Liberia for the inauguration of President-elect Joseph Nyuma Boakai. Sources have revealed that several prominent figures from around the globe will be in attendance, highlighting the significance of this momentous occasion.

Among the distinguished guests expected to grace the event is Han Zheng, the Vice President of the People’s Republic of China. China’s presence at the inauguration underscores the growing bilateral relations between Liberia and China, as well as the importance of strengthening ties between the two nations.

Representing the United States will be Ambassador Linda Thomas Greenfield, who currently serves as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations. Ambassador Greenfield’s presence at the ceremony is particularly significant as she will be representing President Joe Biden. This gesture demonstrates the United States’ commitment to supporting Liberia’s democratic process and signifies the importance of the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

Additionally, the Black Caucus of the U.S. Congress will also be in attendance, further emphasizing the significance of President-elect Boakai’s inauguration. Also coming to Liberia for the occasion are Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, also expected to attend the inauguration program includes the current chair of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu, is expected to touchdown early morning, Monday, January 22, 2024, along with the Presidents of Ghana, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Senegal, and Cape Verde Republic.

The arrival of these world leaders not only signifies the international recognition of President-elect Boakai’s victory but also serves as a testament to Liberia’s progress in consolidating its democracy.

The inauguration ceremony will undoubtedly be a moment of celebration and hope for the Liberian people, as they witness the peaceful transition of power and the beginning of a new era under President Boakai’s leadership.
