ACTING PRESIDENT OF GRAND KRU TECHNICAL COLLEGE ASSESSES PROGRESS, CALLS FOR RESIDENT LEADERSHIP

Date:

BARCLAYVILLE – The Acting President of Grand Kru Technical College (GKTC), Prof. Dr. Josephus Gbala-hinnig Moses Gray, has embarked on a comprehensive assessment tour of the institution, engaging with students, faculty, and staff while evaluating ongoing projects and administrative functions.

During his visit, Prof. Gray inspected the college’s facilities, including the computer lab, student palava hut, library, and ongoing land-clearing efforts for agricultural expansion. He also held meetings with various stakeholders, including support staff, faculty members, department heads, and administrators. He described Wednesday as his busiest day, packed with academic and administrative engagements.

“The tours have broadened my understanding of the college’s academic and administrative landscape. I am deeply impressed with the progress and potential of GKTC,” Prof. Gray remarked, commending the leadership, faculty, and board of trustees for their dedication.

Currently, GKTC has an enrollment of 386 students, with expectations to reach 400 this semester. The college offers associate degrees in Engineering and Computer Technology, Health Sciences, Education, Agriculture, and Public Administration.

On Thursday, the institution will host its Year-End Academic and Honoring Program, recognizing outstanding individuals, including students, faculty, and staff. Awards will be given to the most outstanding student with the highest GPA, most distinguished faculty, best academic department, most diligent security officer, and other exceptional contributors to the college’s growth.

Prof. Gray emphasized the importance of stable and committed leadership at GKTC, urging the Board of Trustees to ensure that whoever is appointed as the next president resides in Barclayville, not Monrovia. He warned that failure to do so could reverse the college’s progress.

“I will highly appreciate it if one of the six candidates presented by the Search Committee is appointed soon. However, let it be clear—I am not a candidate,” he stated.
